Nay ho! Ngor hai Curtis Yip. This means Hello! I’m Curtis Yip, in Cantonese. I am a Senior Developer at Flume and have worked here for almost 2 years. I come from a very busy and fast paced city which is known for its BBQ pork and dim sum restaurants. You guessed it, Hong Kong!
I moved to New Zealand when I was 17. It took me some time to transition to the different culture but after a few years here in New Zealand, I started discovering the wonderful side of this country, enjoying the lifestyle and the kiwi culture. In the end, I completely fell in love with New Zealand and decided to live here permanently.
I studied computer science at the University of Auckland, established my career and started my family here. I have two boys and spending time with them has become my favourite hobby. I also really enjoy snowboarding, gaming and hanging out with friends.
“No pain, no gain”
is one of my favourite quotes. I pretty much live by this quote and apply it to everything I do; playing sports and at work as well. I strongly believe to be successful in something we must go through all sorts of failures, pressure and difficult situations to be able to grow and learn.
